New Haburg Board of Trade Christmas Light Fundraising Gala

New Hamburg Christmas Light Fundraising

 

Dear New Hamburg Residents and Business Owners/Operators On November 7, 1947, the structure that housed the old rink in New Hamburg burned to the ground. The day after the fire, the town council was asked to rebuild the structure. They declined and stated they were saving their ‘nest egg’ for installing the water works. The New Hamburg Board of Trade took it upon themselves to build a new rink and community centre a week after the fire. It took 3-4 years to raise the necessary funds. The project was completed on February 3, 1950. As another Board of Trade initiative, we have launched the Christmas Light Campaign to upgrade our displays along Peel and Huron Streets and install new Christmas displays in the uptown area of Waterloo Street. We are asking the help of businesses and individuals to create a fresh new vibrant look for the 2017 Christmas Season. We have the following ways to support this project: •June 3rd has been selected to get creative in New Hamburg. On this day and prior to it, many businesses will be holding draws/ sales for the project. We ask that you support these businesses. • Purchase single tickets or a table for the June 3rd evening Social Event –
a fundraising dinner (3-course meal) and music with an eight-piece band featuring the music of Frank Sinatra. Tickets are $100 plus hst. This is a great way to treat yourself and friends – plus help our project. Tickets available at Puddicombe House or KLT Wealth Management. •Lastly, we would appreciate any cash donation. All cheques for donations or Social Event payable to New Hamburg Board of Trade. We all want a vibrant retail sector in our community. It is important not only to the retailers but to our service type businesses and manufacturers. It completes the economic circle in our community encouraging new settlement of business and residents alike. Our budget is $30,000 and we already have some donations and independent fundraising events in process. I ask that you make you commitment to the project by May 25th. Brand Ambassador – Glenfiddich and The Balvenie

Beth is resident Brand Ambassador for Glenfiddich and The Balvenie. Beth’s mission is to champion trade education and advocacy for all William Grant & Sons Whisky products and to position William Grant & Sons as a world leader in whisky.  Beth first fell in love with Whisky while living in Edinburgh, Scotland. Since then she has spent the past 12 years working in the Beverage Alcohol Industry, increasing her knowledge and passion in all things Whisky. Beth has spent time working in Dufftown, in the Scottish Highlands at both the Glenfiddich and Balvenie distilleries and tries to return to Scotland as often as she can. Prior to joining the William Grant & Sons team, Beth most recently held sales, marketing and brand specialist positions at Diageo. She is a graduate of The University of Guelph and has completed her Wine and Spirits Education through The International Sommelier Guild.
